Galiuro Mts. Pack Trip

These photos are from a three day horse pack trip Amy and I did in the Galiuro Mountains in South Eastern Arizona at the end of July 2004. Our guides on the trip were our good friends James and Tina of Coronado Outfitters. The not-so-rustic looking shots are from the days before and after the trip -- the best "car camping" ever -- which we spent at the home of Dave Holl. Dave is a gentleman and a true renaissance man: cowboy, artist, currator, chef and music lover. We greatly enjoyed his hospitality.

Our route followed an old 4wd road from the bottom of Arivaipa Canyon to the top of Rattlesnake Mesa ("The gateway to the Northern Galiuro Wilderness"). From here we dropped into Rattlesnake Canyon and we followed the canyon up to Powers Garden. We reversed this route on the return. We had two cameras on the trip and photos from both are included, so things are a bit out of order. Also there are many fine Amy Logan Carr signature shots of gear from Dave's collection of vintage horse paraphenalia.

Enjoy.
